My Musings from my Junior Year of High School
When I was in Kindergarten, everybody was friends with everyone. There were no cliques, no prejudices, and the only drama was when someone stole your crayon. But since then, I have lost friends due to moving away, growing apart, fights, or sometimes even death. Although it is sad to lose these friends, it made me appreciate the friends I still do have, and the new ones I could make. It has also taught me the difference between a true friend and a fake friend. I have learned not all friendships will last, not all will be easy, and sometimes the ones you thought you could count on will let you down. It will cut like a knife, and you could lose trust in people you thought were your best friends.
But when life seems to be going down the drain, that's when you look up and see who is still around. True friends will never leave your side and won't let emotions or fights get in the way. They'll bring you up when you're down, and they have your back when your back is against the wall. You'll find this is all a learning experience, and that losing and gaining friends is a part of growing up. Just always remember, although you may seem to have a ton of friends right now, you will learn who your real friends are in the end.
